It is such a joy to think that the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, comes to us in our weakness and spiritual poverty. He comes to bring all the blessings of the New Covenant. This is Spurgeon’s theme here.
Note how the preacher speaks at the beginning of his own sudden illness a few days before. We must remember that Spurgeon went to be with his Lord less than nine months later.
